A free after-school program located at the Monadnock Country Club in Peterborough, NH. Kids Together is a non-profit program supported by The Place To Go, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization.
KIDS TOGETHER is a free after-school program for Peterborough area children in grades 3-8. Since 1996, it has provided a safe environment where children are warmly received and supervised by committed adult volunteers and professional staff.
While enjoying the company of friends and developing positive relationships, Kids Together children will:
- learn new skills
- perform community service
- participate in physical activities
These activities help the child to:
- cooperate
- solve problems
- explore creativity
- build more self-confidence

KIDS TOGETHER supports approximately 40 children in three sessions each week. They represent a true cross-section of the Peterborough area. Some children are referred to the program by school social workers and teachers, while others are “latch-key” children whose parents cannot be home during after-school hours.
As a Kids Together supporter, you can significantly improve a child’s life. Did you know:
- Latch-key children are at significantly greater risk of truancy from school, stress, receiving poor grades, risk-taking behavior, and substance abuse.
- Latch-key children are 1.7 times more likely to use alcohol.
- Latch-key children are 1.6 times more likely to smoke cigarettes.
- Latch-key children are 2-3 times more likely to be the victims of violent crime than the general population.
- 3 to 6pm is the most likely time for a child to be a victim or perpetrator of a crime.
- 3 to 6pm is the most likely time for teenage sex.
- Children spend more of their out of school time watching television than any other single activity.
